Who We Are
WebSell is an ERP and POS-integrated ecommerce platform trusted by 400+ businesses across retail, wholesale, and distribution. We help businesses take their operations online without the complexity of managing two disconnected systems, because everything on your webstore is powered by the data already in your back office.
We’re not a generic ecommerce builder. We’re specialists in integration, in B2B commerce, and in the specific challenges facing product-based businesses that need their online store to reflect reality, automatically.
Our platform supports businesses of all sizes, from independent brick-and-mortar retailers getting online for the first time to wholesale distributors managing complex B2B operations on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. What they all have in common is a back-office system they rely on, and a need for ecommerce that actually connects to it.
Our Story
- 1999 — Where it started WebSell’s ecommerce journey began in 1999, long before integrated ecommerce was a common concept. The founding insight was straightforward: independent retailers already had their products, pricing, and customer data in their point of sale system. The missing piece was a way to put that data online — accurately, automatically, and without duplicating it somewhere else.
- 2005 — NitroSell is founded The business was formally incorporated in 2005 under the name NitroSell, built in conjunction with retailers who shared a vision for a tightly integrated, highly configurable ecommerce solution. From the beginning the focus was on integration, not just a well-designed website, but a live connection between the online store and the back office that eliminated manual data entry and kept everything in sync.
- Growing the integration portfolio Over the following years, WebSell built direct integrations to some of the most widely used POS and ERP systems in independent retail: Windward System Five, pcAmerica’s Cash Register Express, Retail Management Hero, Microsoft RMS, and eventually Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. Each integration was built to be deep and reliable, not a surface-level connector.
- 2021 — Joining the Volaris Group In 2021 WebSell was acquired by Volaris Group, a subsidiary of Constellation Software Inc., one of the world’s largest acquirers of vertical market software businesses. We continue to operate as a largely independent company, which means we retain the agility and focus of a specialist team while benefiting from the resources and stability of a global organisation.
- The Volaris relationship also brought a closer connection to Windward Software, a fellow Volaris company, making WebSell the natural and recommended ecommerce solution for Windward System Five users worldwide.
- Rebranding to WebSell Following the acquisition, NitroSell rebranded to WebSell, a name that more directly reflects what the platform does and the customers it serves.
- Today WebSell operates from international headquarters in Cork, Ireland, with a US office in Traverse City, Michigan and a support office in Poznań, Poland. We serve 400+ businesses across the US, Canada, Ireland, the UK, Australia, and beyond — helping retailers, wholesalers, and distributors grow their online sales through the power of real integration.
